In a continuing effort to provide high-quality products, Autodesk has released AutoCAD P&ID 2013 Service Pack 2. This service pack includes corrections that prevent potentially serious data loss, and it includes all fixes provided by the AutoCAD P&ID 2013 SP1 Data Integrity Hotfix. Between 2012 and 2013, Autodesk Brazil developed content for Petrobras, which is one of the most well-known oil companies in the world. In Brazil, it is responsible for a large portion of exploration and production and almost all of the refining activities, creating and impacting directly a huge ecosystem of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects; equipment manufacturers;. This hotfix applies to AutoCAD P&ID 2013.

Issues Resolved by This Update

SQL Server

  • An AutoCAD P&ID 2012 project using an SQL Server database and SQL Server Authentication cannot migrate to AutoCAD P&ID 2013. An SQL Server using Windows Authentication is not affected by this issue.

Off-Page Connectors

Autocad
  • If a P&ID drawing is removed from a project and then added again, you cannot reconnect the off-page connectors.

NOTE:You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft Windows operating system to complete the installation process.

On the computer where the affected product is installed, close all software applications.
Download either AutoCAD_PnID_2013_OPC_Offline_Workflow_and_SQL_Hotfix_32bit.zip or AutoCAD_PnID_2013_OPC_Offline_Workflow_and_SQL_Hotfix_64bit.zip.

Open the downloaded .ZIP and copy the .DLL files to the program folder. The default program folder is: C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD P&ID 2013 - English
Click Yes in the Confirm File Replace dialog for PnIDProjectPartsMgd.dll and PnPProjectManagerUI.dll. The new file versions are 7.0.26.1.

Start AutoCAD P&ID to verify that it is running.

You can apply this Service Pack to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct Service Pack for your software.

Information for Windows 7 Users

When you apply this Service Pack while running AutoCAD Plant 3D or AutoCAD P&ID, it is recommended that you do not click the 'Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete' option. Instead, close AutoCAD Plant 3D or AutoCAD P&ID manually, and press 'Ignore' at the prompt. It is also recommended that you reboot your system after installing the Service Pack.

AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD P&ID Updates

Issues fixed with this Service Pack:

P&ID Drawings

  • The exporttoautocad command breaks acquisition rules.

Data Properties

  • Plant data in project drawings occasionally does not save properly. Data loss can occur when working with custom classes, if a drawing is removed and added again, or when modifying referenced (XREF) drawings.

Fixes that apply to AutoCAD Plant 3D only:

3D Model

  • Modifying staircase step data occasionally causes the program to shut down unexpectedly.
  • If a block that contains piping is inserted into a non-project drawing, a recovery error message displays when the non-project drawing is opened.
  • Exported SDNF files do not reflect recent edits.

Isometric Drawings

Autodesk autocad p&id
  • Coordinates added to end connections (CONT'D ON) do not display in the isometric drawing.

Spec Editor

  • The Spec editor requires Admin rights to modify a piping spec or catalog.
    Note: With this hotfix applied, you are not required to have admin rights to modify a piping spec or catalog. However, other Spec Editor features do require that you run the Spec Editor with admin rights (using Run as administrator). For example, admin rights are required to modify the shared content folder or to edit description styles.

General Installation Information


As you prepare to install this Service Pack, keep the following in mind:

Back Up Custom Files

It is recommended that you back up all custom CUIX, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this Service Pack.

Administrative Privileges

During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this Service Pack, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.

Network Deployment

Administrators cannot deploy this Service Pack over a network using the Deployment Wizard. You can deploy this Service Pack as an additional file.

About Your Product

After you install the Service Pack, updated product information displays in the About dialog box.

Reboot

After you install, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

About Windows Command Line Switches

The following Microsoft Windows command line switches are built into this Service Pack:

  • /e – Extracts the MSP file from the Service Pack executable.
  • /q – Suppresses the completion message after the Service Pack is applied. This is useful if you use a script or batch file to apply this Service Pack to multiple computers.

Apply This Service Pack to a Stand-Alone Installation

Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on a single computer.

  1. Download this Service Pack and save it to any folder.
  2. If required, insert the product media (for example, the AutoCAD installation disc).
  3. Find the folder where you saved the Service Pack and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Follow these instructions to install this Service Pack on multiple computers using your local network.

  1. Download this Service Pack and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
  2. Find the shared folder where you saved the Service Pack, and double-click the executable (EXE) file.

Note: Installation through your local network using the CAD Manager Control Utility is not supported for this Service Pack.

Uninstall This Service Pack

Note: After uninstalling the service pack you must use the Reinstall option of the AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 or P&ID 2013 installer.

Windows XP

  1. From the Start menu (Windows), click Settings > Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. In the Add or Remove Programs window, select the Show Updates option.
  4. Find the appropriate Service Pack in the list of programs. Click Remove.

Windows 7

  1. From the Start menu (Windows), click Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs.
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. In the Programs and Features window, in the left pane, click View Installed Updates.
  5. Find the appropriate Service Pack in the list of updates. Click Uninstall.
